We have been practicing improvised live guitar and sampling since summer 2023, documenting everything we’ve been creating, as the process of creating is a transitory thing, and what is created can be lost as soon as it has disipated. As part of our practice, we don’t aim to learn pieces; our intention is to get very good at our craft. This is why we record what we do, so we don’t lose anything we’ve enjoyed creating. We have amassed many hours of audio, and decided to share a few excerpts from our archive as a debut of sorts. These recordings are long form - journey pieces, so to speak. So they do not have the normal form of a song, and are closer to ambient soundscapes. We may try to make songs one day, but for now these long ‘jams’ are where we feel we are enjoying ourselves the most.
We are inspired by a diverse array of music: Reich, NIN, Aphex, Autechre, Cage, Jon Hopkins etc. as well as contemporary, electronic, and club genres - we have no fixed idea of what we intend to create. All of our performances and recordings have no set start point. We rarely communicate as we record, and the variations, transitions are generally unpredictable. We love what we do, and we hope you do too. We hope to inspire you to be creative, no matter what your practice, skill level or expectations.
Thank you to all our friends and f amily for supporting and encouraging us, giving us places to practice, record and film.
